Why This Four Seasons at Canary Wharf?
Traveling to London with your son means you want to find a place that is friendly for families, but easy to get around. So at first, I was hesitant to get a room on something so far west of town. There are plenty of places to stay in London, and while we love Westminster, to be close to Parliament and Big Ben – you are a bit closed in there. Congestion is the word for London, with streets that have not been updated since they installed the first gas lanterns, as most people rely on the underground. But this area seemed bright, cheerful, roomy.
And in London, room size, especially in most of London – is at a premium. This hotel offered plenty of room – an essential for us, but the biggest benefit of this hotel?
Travel on the Thames
The Clipper – allowing us to travel without the usual London congestion. Why spend thirty minutes in a cab or Uber when you can take this and have some fun on the water? The boats are easy to get on, inexpensive, and a whole lot of fun. Plus, if you want a cup of coffee or a beer you can get those while you relax or walk around and take a few photographs. So when you consider getting around in London, why stay in a congested place, when you can stay here- get to your destination quickly, and enjoy a ride home where you will have plenty of room.
Four Seasons: Always Home
We kind of think of JJ as the ambassador for Four Seasons. It seems wherever he goes in the Four Seasons family he is known, and taken care of. The concierge saw on our twitter stream that JJ was having a birthday this month and asked if they could have a cake for him. Of course, on arrival.
Rooms with great views
The neighborhood in Canary Wharf is Strong
Just a couple of blocks away – great food, great shopping – all without the hustle of the crowded areas of London. Restaurants in this area are first class and we were delighted with the choices. It is nice to walk to a restaurant, in a non-crowded area and have great food. The shopping – well it is nothing short of amazing. Canada Square, a five minute walk, is open seven days a week – has more than 200 shops, with all the designer and high end shops you could want. Without the traffic or hustle of Piccadilly Circus or Oxford Street.
We will be back
We don’t say that often. We like to try different hotels, and have a lot of different experiences – but this place and this location are special. This is our favorite neighborhood to stay in London.
